Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments. A little about myself: I am an 8-year-old boy who loves doing things and going out. I am very active and people around me adore me. They tell me that I am very likeable and an endearing little boy. I love it when people give me one-to-one attention and keep me company. I am very clever and curious about everything. I love talking to people but will need you to show me how to play and do things sometimes. I like routines and I need strong boundaries for me to feel safe. Driver required to take me out. Hours of work 4 hours a week school term* 8 hours a week during school holidays* *This can be flexible. Rate of pay £13.13 an hour Essential I need you to: • Take me out so I can burn off my energy; • Understand my needs - Autism and possibly ADHD; • I would also like you to take me out for food sometimes, and if I swear teach me not to; • If we go to the park, teach me how to interact with other children with the right manners. Desirable I’d prefer if: • You are active, and can run around with me and support me to carry out activities; • You have previous experience of working with children with Autism. I’d like support with: • Taking me out so I can have fun; • Keeping me safe, as I have no danger awareness; • Keep me safe if I have a seizure. I will need my PA to: Understand the importance of my needs; Be fun and patient with me; Be dependable and arrive on time; Be friendly with an easy-going manner; Be adaptable and flexible; Be supportive with my needs; Have business insurance on your car to take me out. Concerning the position A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
