About the Role:
Redbridge Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead its Family Help Team. This is a senior leadership role within Children’s Services, overseeing a team of social workers delivering high-quality support to children and families.
You will ensure statutory assessments, long-term casework, and pre-proceedings (PLO) are delivered to the highest professional standards. You will also help embed consistent, outcomes-focused practice as part of an ongoing service improvement journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage social work and senior practitioner teams with effective supervision and performance oversight.
2. Oversee statutory assessments, care planning, and interventions.
3. Manage complex long-term cases to support sustainable family outcomes.
4. Provide guidance and oversight for PLO and court work, ensuring robust, timely reports.
5. Promote reflective practice, continuous learning, and inter-agency collaboration.
About You:
6. Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
7. Substantial post-qualifying experience in statutory Children’s Services.
8. Proven experience in complex assessments, long-term case management, and PLO/court processes.
9. Experience supervising or managing social work teams.
Hybrid Working:
Redbridge Council has maintained a flexible hybrid working model, highlighted by Ofsted in 2024 as a key strength. While we value flexibility, a regular office presence is important for team collaboration and embedding consistent practice. Working from home can be agreed for specific tasks, such as writing a court report, but should not be viewed as a routine expectation.
