Job Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out a wide variety of administrative duties relating to the Criminal Administration and Prison Reception function. The post holder will have daily access to sensitive information regarding prisoners in our care.
The post holder will be required to undertake and pass both the online warrant course on Warrants and Sentence Calculations, then successfully complete the 4 days warrant course at the SPS College.
Responsibilities Process and store relevant documents such as warrants and other documents relating to people in our care sentences. Ensuring accurate paperwork for Escorting provider to allow productions at court. Organise documents required for those in our care transfers/release. Update records to take account of changing prisoner circumstances. Verify relevant data held on Prisoner Records System (PR2) and communicate information both internally and externally. Accurately interpret, calculate and validate all warrants and accompanying documentation (via paper and PR2) in accordance with legislation and SPS requirements. Represent establishment through daily contact with SPS staff, Procurator Fiscal's office, Police, Courts and other outside agencies. To carry out any other relevant administrative duties to ensure the effective service of the Criminal Admin Office and the Prison Reception. Qualification Requirements Minimum of five National 5 (or equivalent) qualifications, including English and Mathematics or relevant administrative experience. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements Competent and experienced in all aspects of administration. Competent and experienced in the use of Microsoft Packages. Good numeracy skills, including the ability to analyse and interrogate a wide range of information. Experience of Warrant and Sentence Calculations.
