The position holder will be responsible for the detailed inspection of aircraft components using the company SAP system to record condition of component and create a cost-effective repair route sheet as appropriate I.A.W OEM CMM's and SOPM's.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Undertake and complete a detailed inspection of all components (with exception of components which require a quarantine process due to incident / accident.) using latest criteria and Inspection equipment.
2. Creation and modification of component overhaul / Repair routes within SAP as required.
3. Ensuring that all information (I.E. P/N, S/N and Condition) is recorded in the shop Repair Order and on the SAP system.
4. Carry out accurate measurement of components where required due to workload.
5. Work to Production priority lists - ASPEN, Milestone dates as provided by Production Control.
6. Interface with Technical engineering, and other production departments where necessary.
7. Other duties as directed by the Section Manager, Team Leader or Leading Hand.
8. Train and mentor other team personnel within the role subject to your qualifications and experience.
9. Maintain a personal Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
10. Actively participate in department daily dialog meetings.

11. To promote and monitor compliance with legislation, company policy and codes of practise relating to Health and Safety at work.
12. To be aware of and work within company policies, procedures and agreements.
13. Avoid setting precedents which could be detrimental to operations and business.
14. An awareness of the Major Accident Prevention plan (MAPP).
15. An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the company's environmental procedures.
16. All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes Required:
17. Aerospace apprenticeship would be desirable.
18. Qualification in an engineering subject would be desirable.
19. Experience within an Aerospace Engineering or equivalent environment.
20. Previous mechanical component inspection background.
21. Previous experience working within an SAP computer system would advantageous.
22. Good knowledge of inspection techniques and equipment.
23. Previous practical experience using imperial measurement tools such as Micrometres, callipers and precision measuring tools.
24. Previous knowledge of manuals and Boeing websites.
25. Good communication skills.
26. Excellent attitude to workshop housekeeping.
27. Able to work to tight deadlines.
28. Flexible approach to work.
29. Excellent team player.
Working Conditions:
30. Shift work. Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday
31. May require additional overtime hours to be worked.
32. Working with computers and screens for prolonged periods.
33. Sitting down for majority of working day.
34. Workshop has fluctuating temperature dependent upon time of year and operations underway in other Production departments.
35. Occasional loud noises from machinery and other production department activity.
Compliance and Onboarding:
36. Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
37. Mandatory Training will be required.
38. Very good (Aided or unaided) vision to allow defects to be detected.
39. Occasional lifting of heavy components.
40. Able to sit down for prolonged period of time.
