Job Purpose
Reporting to a Senior Engineer (process), the Engineer (process) will have a flexible, can-do attitude while providing process engineering support to internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders will include Discipline Engineers, Area Engineering Managers and Project Engineers. External stakeholders will include Design Development Partners and Strategic Solutions Partners.
The role will require you to manage the quality and priority of deliverables allocated to you or those that you deem necessary to enable completion of a task.
You will also be required to deputise for the Senior Engineer (process) as necessary.
Although predominantly office based extended periods of deployed working supporting Operations may be required. This requirement is referred to as County Engineering and could require travel across one or more counties within the United Utilities five counties.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Ensuring that the relevant company standards, procedures, regulations and quality management system are adhered to personally and within the team.
* Ensuring the development and improvement of standards, standard products and specifications
* Ensuring that team deliverables are checked for accuracy and quality
* Ensuring that risks to quality, budget and programme are raised in a timely manner at an appropriate business level
* Ensuring continued professional development
* Ensuring that developing engineers are mentored and line managed effectively
Technical Skills & Experience
* Developing breadth of water sector process knowledge
* Some depth of knowledge in one or more specialist process subject areas
* Developing self-awareness
* Good understanding of UK water sector regulatory environment
* Good collaborative working style

* Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent
