We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking and well-resourced department at a great school. Duties as a Design Technology Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable) Teach a range of DT disciplines, such as Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, Textiles, or Resistant Materials Create a safe and stimulating learning environment that encourages practical exploration and design thinking Use a range of materials, tools, machinery, and digital technologies (e.g. CAD/CAM) confidently and safely Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and prepare pupils for qualifications and assessments Contribute to curriculum development, projects, and the creation of inspiring schemes of work Manage classroom tools and resources, ensuring all health and safety regulations are met Support enrichment opportunities such as clubs, competitions, and design events Engage with parents, carers and colleagues to support student progress Uphold school policies including behaviour, safeguarding, and equal opportunities Ideal Design Technology Teacher: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) Has a specialism in one or more areas of Design Technology Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for practical learning Is confident with traditional and digital design technologies Has strong classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive teaching as the Design Technology Teacher.
