The Leonardo Cyber Security Division is looking to recruit a Principal Systems Engineer to join its engineering team.
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will typically lead technical work and small teams within a larger team on the design, development, and testing of secure systems, including but not limited to:
* Information Management Systems
* Command and Control systems
* Security Monitoring of IT, IoT, and CNI systems and services
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of and implement the engineering delivery of one or more work packages, including planning, estimation, execution, and progress reporting of your workload and that of team members.

What you’ll do as a Principal Systems Engineer:
* Contribute to system design and low-level design using your technical experience and best practices.
* Develop, integrate, and test system solutions, including scripting for automation and integration.
* Report progress and status to internal customers.
* Configure and administer system security tools such as SIEM systems, IDS/IPS, Endpoint Detection and Response, etc.
* Troubleshoot system issues and faults, diagnose problems, and propose solutions.
* Implement security controls, including operating system lockdown measures.
* Create systems engineering artifacts and documentation to support system delivery and maintenance.
* Mentor other team members in your area of expertise.
* Provide technical support to the business, support projects, and possibly participate in bid development/evaluation.
* Collaborate with external vendors and resellers to develop robust, costed solutions.
* Demonstrate experience in systems engineering or IT solution delivery, ideally in a secure environment.
* Possess strong technical skills with knowledge of network and systems infrastructure technologies.
* Awareness of cyber security capabilities is advantageous.
* Must be a UK national with DV clearance.
Additional requirements include good knowledge of Wintel IT systems and experience with:
* Microsoft Active Directory
* Windows and Linux server installation and configuration
* Virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V
* Workstation deployment including Microsoft WDS and MDT
* Microsoft Office Suite and related products (Exchange, SQL, etc.)
* Implementing security policies, system lockdowns, GPOs, application whitelisting/blacklisting, and device/media controls
* Managing enterprise patching and update solutions such as WSUS
