Residential therapeutic parent

Parkstone
Glow Futures
£32,126 - £34,280 a year
Posted: 21 September
Offer description

Glow Futures is a specialist children's home provider based in Poole, Dorset, offering therapeutic care for children aged 4 to 11 years. We support young children who have experienced trauma, particularly within caregiving relationships, through highly nurturing, family-style homes registered with Ofsted. This will be Glow Futures first home, although the Directors are experienced social workers, and operated previous children's home.

Each home cares for up to two children, creating a safe, stable, and intimate environment where healing and growth can flourish. Our Glow Therapeutic Re-Parenting Pathway provides assessment, intervention, and transition planning, with the ultimate goal of helping children move into long-term family life—through foster care, adoption, kinship, or reunification.

Our GLOW model is at the heart of everything we do:

Growth – supporting emotional, psychological, and developmental healing

Love – providing safe, caring, and attachment-informed environments

Opportunity – helping children rediscover choice, trust, and hope

Wellbeing – prioritising mental health, safety, and holistic care

The Role

We are seeking Therapeutic Parents to work alongside the children on a residential shift pattern of 2 days on and 4 days off. This is a set 6 week rolling shift pattern, with sleep in shifts, plus an average 38.5 hours per week working shifts. You will act as a consistent, nurturing figure for children who have experienced trauma, providing daily care and emotional support within a small, family-style setting.

As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with social workers, psychologists, therapists, and teachers to deliver personalised care plans. Reflective practice and trauma-informed approaches are embedded in our daily routines, ensuring that every interaction contributes to a child's recovery journey.

Salary: depends on qualifications, ranging from £ £14.50 per hour + sleep in payment of £50 per night
