Job Description: Day Club Support Worker
General Scope of the Post
To participate in the overall running of the day clubs
To work closely with colleagues and other day club volunteers or visitors to carry out their duties safely and effectively
To Follow the allocation as set out by the Day Care Supervisor to provide a wide range of activities, to interest and stimulate service users physically and mentally and contribute to their overall well-being
To understand and promote privacy, dignity, independence and choice for all service users
Responsibilities and duties
· To acquaint oneself immediately upon coming on duty with the relevant events relating to service users via handover from Day Care Supervisor.
· To ensure the premises and environment is safe and effective for clients, staff, and visitors.
· To fulfil their daily role in line with the daily allocation
· To encourage service users to maintain maximum independence, taking into account any physical/mental disabilities and to stimulate their participation in activities
· To encourage social interactions between service users
· To attend staff meetings, providing feedback and new ideas and to assist in implementing recommendations that relate to individual service users and to the group as a whole
· To assist with the preparation of simple refreshments, light meals, clearing and washing up of crockery for service users
· Maintain a safe working environment, removing potential hazards
· Responsible for reading each service users care plan, life story and activities checklist and are aware of all care needs and any risks associated.
· To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and contribute to developing activities and to respond positively to new development and changes and to adapt to new tasks relating to this current role
· To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection
· Report any Concerns or changes in service users physical or emotional condition to the Supervisor
· To participate in enhancing the intellectual and social wellbeing of the service users you support
To help plan ongoing weekly activities in conjunction with the service users wishes through wind downs and discussions
· Maintain full and accurate records of activities using one touch, in order to monitor, record and evaluate individuals.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to £12.40 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
