Serving a range of industrial sectors, they pride themselves on precision, consistency, and reliable delivery through modern manufacturing methods and continuous improvement.Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join their production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming Mazak CNC lathes to manufacture precision fasteners, nuts, bolts, and threaded components to customer specifications.
This role is ideal for a skilled machinist with experience in high-volume precision manufacturing and a strong understanding of turning operations, tooling, and quality control.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram, set, and run Mazak CNC lathes efficiently and safelyManufacture precision fasteners, nuts, bolts, and threaded components to specificationRead and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tolerancesSelect and install tooling, work holding, and machine offsetsPerform first-off inspections and in-process quality checksMeasure finished parts using precision inspection equipmentMaintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish standardsMonitor machine performance and optimise machining cycles where possibleTroubleshoot tooling, programming, and machining issuesComplete production and quality documentation accuratelyMaintain a clean, organised, and safe working environmentCarry out routine machine maintenance and daily checksEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a CNC Turner within a manufacturing or precision engineering environmentExperience setting and operating CNC lathes independentlyProgramming knowledge on Mazak controls (Mazatrol preferred)Experience machining steel, stainless steel, and other engineering materialsStrong understanding of threaded component manufacturing and turning processesAbility to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerancesStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityDesirable Qualifications & ExperienceEngineering apprenticeship or relevant machining qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)Experience in fastener or threaded component manufacturing preferredKnowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practicesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary dependent on experienceStable MondayFriday day shift patternOvertime opportunities availableCompany pension schemeOn-site parkingTraining and development opportunities into a senior management positionOpportunity to join a growing UK manufacturing business .TPBN1_UKTJ
