Mechanical Technician
Location: Luton
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off rotating shifts (42 hours per week)
Base Salary: £60,000pa - £63,000pa
Pension: 12% contribution from employer
Annual Leave: 25 days + Bank holidays

The Role
You will play a key role in maintaining and improving critical live operational mechanical assets, ensuring a safe, reliable and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on live operational mechanical plant, systems and equipment.
* Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and recommend long-term improvements.
* Provide first-line plumbing support when required, including clearing foul drains.
* Use asset management and IT systems to receive, complete, and close work orders.
* Maintain accurate engineering and operational records in line with regulatory and business requirements.
* Promote safe working practices and contribute to a strong safety culture.
* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in plant rooms and technical areas.
* Support mechanical improvement and upgrade projects.
* Monitor contractor work quality and mentor apprentices or trainees when required.
* Deliver work efficiently and right first time to support a great guest experience.
About You:
* BTEC ONC/HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Mechanical engineering experience gained through apprenticeship, training, or practical experience.
* Experience with commercial and/or domestic gas and oil heating systems.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physically fit for an operational environment.
* Full clean driving licence
Desirable:
* Gas Safe registration
* Electrical qualifications or experience
