? About the Role
As a Lead Tutor, you'll take a leading role in ensuring the quality and compliance of curriculum delivery across your designated area. You'll mentor new team members, support curriculum development, and model best practices in technical instruction. Your expertise will also contribute to standardisation efforts and quality assurance processes for awarding bodies.
? Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain high-quality Schemes of Work and assessments
* Mentor and train new staff to uphold delivery standards
* Deliver flexible, engaging technical training for apprentices and staff
* Track and report learner progress and performance
* Support Awarding Body and internal quality assurance requirements
* Contribute to the development of course materials and learning resources
* Provide internal quality assurance and assess learner work
* Maintain stock levels of workshop consumables
* Promote a safe, motivational, and disciplined learning environment
* Provide cover and support across first-year instructional areas when needed
What We’re Looking For
* A strong engineering background with broad technical skills
* Experience delivering and assessing technical training
* Knowledge of Awarding Body standards and compliance
* Confidence in mentoring others and leading by example
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing departmental needs
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A proactive, solution-focused mindset
? Desirable Qualifications
* Teaching and assessing qualifications (e.g., CertEd, TAQA, or equivalent)
* Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) certification
* Experience using platforms like Smart Assessor
