Job Summary
At PHOENIX we have ambitious plans to digitalise our core business and we’re expanding our in house development capabilities to meet this challenge. We’re passionate believers in the benefits of low code and our platform of choice is OutSystems. Initially we’re focusing on the UK but we have ambitions to create a competence centre and offer OutSystems capabilities to the wider European PHOENIX Group.
We’re a key player in the UK healthcare market operating a chain of over 300 pharmacies and a national distribution network supplying medicines to thousands of pharmacies, doctors and hospitals on a daily basis. So you’ll have the opportunity to apply and develop your skills whilst playing a part in contributing to the health of the nation.
As a Digital Developer on our team you will work with customers to truly understand business problems and opportunities. Using the OutSystems low code platform you will design, build and deploy innovative digital solutions playing an active part in all stages of the process from initial idea through to launch and, in line with DevOps principles, support the applications in life.
Responsibilities
As part of a small cross-functional team you will have the opportunity to contribute at all stages:
1. Working with your team to create customer journey maps to develop an understanding of customer experiences and identify opportunities for improvement.
2. Working directly with customers to create wireframes and prototypes to explore potential solutions.
3. Build solutions using OutSystems Low Code Application Platform.
4. Integrate with other business applications using RESTful APIs.
5. Perform QA including writing integration tests.
6. Perform usability testing.
7. Troubleshoot in life applications.
Knowledge and Skills
8. Essential:
9. Proficiency in web-based languages: HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
10. Good understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
11. Desirable:
12. Experience working with OutSystems or a similar low code platform. Or traditional development experience for example using C# or Java.
13. OutSystems training will be available to those transferring from traditional development.
14. Lean and/or agile ways of working and use of supporting tools such as Jira.
15. QA experience in particular writing and executing unit and integration tests.
16. OutSystems certification.
