Head of Occupational Health Services


Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Clinical Lead to join our senior management team. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing our clinical operations, ensuring excellence in both service delivery and clinical standards across our team of nurses and technicians.

Working closely with the Managing Director and Commercial Director, you will play a key role in aligning clinical services with our strategic objectives and business growth, while upholding our core values of One Team, Highly Professional, and Clinical & Client Excellence.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide strong clinical leadership, championing our values and fostering a culture of excellence.
* Ensure high standards of clinical governance for both clients and internal teams.
* Oversee the recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing professional development of clinical staff.
* Manage day-to-day operations of the clinical team, including appraisals, performance management, and absence monitoring.
* Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, ensuring outstanding service delivery and satisfaction.
* Deliver and contribute to the development of client training programs in collaboration with the Training Manager.
* Liaise with external clinical contractors (e.g., Occupational Health Physicians), managing meetings and documentation related to revalidation and indemnity.
* Lead the review and update of clinical policies and procedures in line with SEQOHS and Client standards.
* Ensure accurate data capture and compliance with client contractual requirements.
* Promote a supportive and collaborative team culture.
* Drive ongoing SEQOHS accreditation processes and compliance.
* Support the onboarding of new client contracts, including staff recruitment, clinical service planning, and operational logistics.
* Ensure all clinical personnel (including external specialists) are regularly audited, with follow-up training and support as needed.
* Guide and support OHA/OHN staff with NMC revalidation requirements.


Person Specification

* Registered General Nurse with Occupational Health Specialist Practitioner status (NMC Part 3).
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing Occupational Health service delivery.
* Passionate about professional development and knowledge sharing within the OH field.
* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – including experience writing policies and delivering client presentations.
* Proven experience leading and managing a clinical team.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Occupational Health software systems.
* Demonstrated ability to make confident, well-informed decisions in a clinical setting.
