Project Engineer - Aberdeen (Onshore/Offshore)

Client: A leading offshore engineering and installation services provider
We are currently supporting a key client in the offshore energy sector who is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join their engineering team in Aberdeen. This position plays a vital role in delivering offshore installation projects across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, supporting both oil & gas and renewable energy sectors.
The successful candidate will be based in Aberdeen, with occasional short-term travel to project locations across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
1. Execute engineering tasks assigned by the Installation Engineering Manager or project leadership team.
2. Support installation activities, light construction, and inspection/maintenance/repair (IMR) scopes.
3. Produce and review technical documentation, method statements, procedures, and calculations.
4. Liaise with Project Managers and business stakeholders to ensure objectives and milestones are achieved.
5. Create and review installation engineering procedures ensuring compliance with design codes, standards, and client requirements.
6. Contribute to tenders and technical planning phases.
7. Perform lift rigging and structural calculations.
8. Attend internal and client-facing meetings to represent engineering inputs.
9. Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SIT (System Integration Tests).
10. Support and supervise offshore operations and subcontractor activities when required.
11. Carry out international travel and offshore assignments as necessary.
Required Qualifications & Experience
12. Degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or Naval).
13. Extensive experience in offshore/subsea engineering or related fields.
14. Proficiency in engineering tools such as MathCAD, 3D CAD, and 2D AutoCAD.
15. Valid driver's license and passport.
16. Ability and willingness to travel internationally for short-term assignments.

PEC Basic Training (Petroleum Education Council)
BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training)
Desirable Skills
18. Experience in offshore vessel mobilisation and installation of subsea structures.
19. Familiarity with ROV and diver-assisted operations.
20. Previous involvement in:
Inspection campaigns
Flying lead and tie-in installations
Valve operations and spool piece installations
Decommissioning and commissioning
21. Prior experience working in international project environments.
