CV Technical are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business that designs and delivers bespoke material handling and processing solutions to customers across the UK and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded design professional who enjoys seeing projects develop from concept through to manufacture and installation.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of bespoke mechanical systems and equipment, working closely with customers, production teams, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Producing 3D models and detailed engineering drawings
* Designing bespoke mechanical equipment and assemblies
* Supporting projects from concept through to manufacture
* Liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
* Ensuring designs meet customer specifications and industry standards
* Supporting continuous improvement and product development activities
* Assisting with technical problem-solving and design modifications
* Occasional travel to customer sites when required
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer position
* Strong 3D CAD modelling experience
* Apprentice trained or qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline
* Experience designing machinery, mechanical systems, or special purpose equipment
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
* Willingness to travel occasionally when required
