A Vacancy at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Applications are sought for a general paediatric consultant with an interest in diabetes in HHFT. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team. This is a 10PA post but applications from LTFT candidates are welcome.
Post Overview
The post covers inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient care in general paediatrics, diabetes and level 1+ neonates. The post holder will take part in the ‘consultant of the week’ model of working with some resident night shifts as well as on call.
Clinical Duties
* Outpatient work: general paediatric clinics, diabetes and endocrine clinics.
* Provide support and contribute to acute general paediatric and neonatal care.
* Lead day‑to‑day running of the child health department and provide continuity of care.
* Opportunity to develop roles in management, clinical governance, diabetes and endocrinology.
* Allocated a mentor and expected to participate in the regular appraisal process.
Administrative Duties
* Undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
Teaching
* Contribute to teaching and training of residents and medical students.
* Support high‑quality multidisciplinary education.
Clinical Governance
* Participate in departmental clinical governance; regular meetings are held.
Secretarial Support / Office
* Supported by a secretary and share consultant offices within the department.
Residence
* Residence within either 10 miles or 30 minutes by road from the hospital is a normal requirement for on‑call duties.
