We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior 2nd Line Engineer to join a well-established and growing IT services business based in the West Midlands. Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for providing high-level 2nd line support, assisting with troubleshooting, administration, and project-based tasks across a variety of client environments.
Core Skills & Experience
* Active Directory – User account creation, management, and permissions.
* Group Policy (GPO) – Creation, management, and enforcement of policies.
* Microsoft Exchange – Basic support and troubleshooting.
* Microsoft Office (2007–2016) – Installation, configuration, and user support.
* Microsoft 365 – User administration, troubleshooting, and migration experience.
* Remote Desktop Services / Terminal Server – Account creation and server-level troubleshooting.
Desirable Skills
* Windows Server (2008 / 2008 R2 / 2012) – Basic administration and troubleshooting.
* Citrix – Troubleshooting connection and access issues.
* Backup Solutions – Knowledge of common backup technologies and storage management.
* Networking Fundamentals – Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, VPN, switching, routing, and wireless access.
* Application Support – Ability to troubleshoot and support third-party and bespoke applications.
