Salary: Principal: GBP40,000 : GBP55,000 per annum
Senior: GBP32,000 : GBP40,000 per annum
Job Type: Full:time, Permanent with an initial six:month probation period
Working hours: 37.5 hours/week : Monday to Friday (part time also considered)

We seek a Principal or Senior Structural Engineer to join our friendly team based in Ivybridge, Devon, working on a diverse range of exciting and challenging Structural Design and Inspection projects across the beautiful Southwest region.
The Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical and professional leadership as well as supporting others in the delivery of a range of structural engineering design works including the following:
* Designing and detailing of structures including a selection of the following:
* Reinforced concrete and steel frames
* Masonry structures
* Timber design
* Retaining walls and basements
* Structural alterations and refurbishment work
* Assessing existing structures for condition, suitability and potential adaptation or reuse
* Interpreting architectural and M and E layouts to develop coordinated structural designs
* Preparing and checking a wide range of technical reports including structural assessments, design reports and structural condition surveys
* Ensuring projects are designed in compliance with current codes and regulations including Eurocodes and British Standards
* Promoting a culture of health and safety and ensuring all works comply with current H and S requirements and industry best practice
* Producing and assisting with the preparation of fee proposals and tender documentation
* Collaborating with internal teams across civil and geotechnical departments to deliver integrated, cross:discipline projects
* Attending site visits to commercial, residential and public sector properties for inspections, surveys, site meetings and monitoring construction works
* Engaging with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to deliver projects to suit client requirements.
About You:
Requirements:
* Educated to degree level (MEng / BEng / BSc) in a Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
* Preferably have chartered status with an accredited body (not essential where candidates exhibit sufficient experience)
* Have a minimum 4 :5 years of relevant experience in a structural design environment. (Less experience may be considered for the right candidate).
* Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCad, Revit and Masterseries
* Be capable of working individually or as part of a wider team as lead engineer or assisting others.
* Be conscientious with high standards, attention to detail and good written and oral communication skills.
* Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
* Keep up with industry innovations, undertake CPD to maintain a good knowledge of current construction and engineering practice.
* Have a full driving licence.
Beneficial but not essential:
* Hold a current CSCS card.
