Role: AWS Solution Architect
Location: London (Office-based, 250 Bishopsgate area)
Type: 6-Month Contract
Day Rate: Up to £465/day (Inside IR35)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure AWS-based infrastructure for a leading financial institution. The role involves modernising data platforms, enabling data products and marketplace models, and integrating advanced analytics and visualization tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures aligned with banking standards.
* Drive the migration of data platforms (DWH → AWS/Snowflake) and establish data product frameworks.
* Develop ETL pipelines using AWS EMR for efficient data processing.
* Integrate Tableau with AWS for seamless reporting and visualization.
* Design and deploy containerized microservices applications on Amazon EKS.
* Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Jenkins for automation.
* Implement and monitor DevOps pipelines, ensuring best practices for security and compliance.
* Lead technical design reviews and mentor team members.
Skills & Experience Required
* Deep understanding of AWS services and architecture best practices.
* Hands-on experience with Lambda, EKS, EMR, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible.
* Strong scripting ability in Python or Bash.
* Background in ETL and data engineering on AWS.
* Experience integrating Tableau with AWS services.
* Avaloq or banking domain experience preferred.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional preferred.
