Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of experience with dementia and Alzheimer's. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of personal assistance, particularly within the realms of senior care and patient support. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Duties
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
* Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
* Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia care.
* Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
Skills
* Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or hospice care is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques to effectively support clients with cognitive impairments.
* Strong caregiving skills with a focus on senior care and home care environments.
* Excellent driving skills for transporting clients safely to various locations.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours with empathy and patience.
* Competence in meal preparation that meets nutritional guidelines for diverse dietary requirements.
