RAC Mobile Mechanic role in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, delivering expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to customers wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll provide first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage, with a 40‑hour week and independence to progress your career.
Responsibilities
* Mixes servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks with stock management, reporting, and ongoing customer conversations.
* Thinks on your feet and makes the right call for each customer, with different fixes and new challenges every day.
* Provide high‑quality customer service at driveways, business premises, and other customer locations as part of RAC’s mobile service team.
* Manage vehicles on site, communicate effectively with customers, and maintain RAC standards on every visit.
Qualifications
* Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
* At least 3 years' hands‑on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles
* A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
Location & Compensation
* Kettering, Northamptonshire — Up to £50,000 per annum
* 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays
* A competitive base salary of £38,625, with on‑target earnings up to £50,000
* Guaranteed overtime to increase base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities

* Opportunities available in the East Midlands: Northampton, Worksop, Derby
* As an RAC Mobile Mechanic, you’ll have your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit provided.
* Opt‑in guaranteed overtime and flexible scheduling options may apply; more details provided during onboarding.
