New Role In - Senior Buyer Location: Aberdeen City Contract: Permanent Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 per week Hybrid: 2-3 days from home Salary: £35K - £40K per annum Overview: We are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join our client in Aberdeen. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced procurement professional to take on a key role within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process from end to end, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality purchasing in line with client requirements and internal procedures. You'll work closely with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to maintain high standards of service delivery, compliance, and commercial performance. Key Responsibilities: Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiation, order placement, and delivery tracking Build and maintain strong supplier and client relationships to ensure optimal performance and value Ensure compliance with client-specific procurement procedures and internal governance policies Handle complex or high-value purchasing requirements with a proactive and solutions-focused approach Support junior team members through mentoring, training, and technical guidance Liaise closely with logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain coordination Monitor and report on key procurement KPIs and identify areas for continuous improvement Manage tender and quotation processes where applicable Resolve invoice, delivery, or specification discrepancies in a timely and professional manner Maintain accurate records and documentation in procurement systems What We're Looking For: Proven experience in a procurement or supply chain role, ideally within the energy or industrial sectors Strong negotiation, commercial, and supplier management skills Knowledge of procurement systems (e.g. Sage, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred but not essential Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience is an advantage Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience Bonus scheme Flexible working Hybrid working 37.5-hour working week (Monday to Friday) Opportunities for career development and progression Supportive and collaborative team environment Access to employee benefits including pension scheme, holiday allowance, discounts and more For more information please contact Sammie Smith at Major Recruitment Aberdeen: sammiesmith@major-recruitment.com 01224 454 070 INDFS
