Join Us in Transforming Head & Neck Cancer Care in Sussex! We have an exciting new opportunity for an Advanced Dietitian for Head & Neck Cancer Care (Band 7).
Base: Eastbourne and Brighton. Service: Oncology (Radiotherapy). Employer: University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. This newly created advanced dietitian role sits within an innovative H&N Radiotherapy service. The team includes a Dietitian, Speech & Language Therapist and Advanced Care Practitioner, delivering care for patients receiving complex radiotherapy. The post will lead the establishment of this service at a new site and support cross-profession, site and Trust collaboration while delivering excellent nutrition care to nutritionally vulnerable patients. The role offers opportunities to shape services, contribute to research, and develop professionally in a supportive environment. Applications from HCPC registered dietitians with a strong clinical background are welcome.
Responsibilities
* Nutritional assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment for head and neck cancer patients.
* Facilitating enteral and home enteral feeding.
* Pre-treatment and prehabilitation. Attendance at multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs) and clinics.
* Clinical governance, risk management, audit, quality improvement, research and education/mentoring/training to others.
* Cross-site and partnership working within the Trust.

Candidate Information & Requirements

Qualificatons
* Essential: BSc/MSc/PhD or equivalent in Nutrition and Dietetics; HCPC registered; evidence of extensive CPD relevant to the post; Student Clinical Educators Course; proven teaching/presentation skills; proven skills in service development/change.
* Desirable: Member of a relevant oncology body (e.g., BDA Oncology Group/BAHNO); training in motivational interviewing and behaviour change; auditing and research experience; experience supervising/people development; experience in oncology/Head & Neck teams.
