Vacancy: Teaching Assistant
(Initial Fixed Term to August 2026)
Immediate Start
We are looking for a highly motivated teaching assistant to join us from September 2025 on a fixed term contract for 30 hours per week. The post is Monday to Friday, term time only.
The primary responsibility will be to provide class-based learning support for children in KS1 or KS2. There may also be a significant element of supporting children with special educational needs. Supervising children at lunchtime is also a key requirement of the role. Initially, the post is for a fixed term of 12 months, with a review of the staffing structure planned thereafter.
Applicants from experienced teaching assistants or graduates/school leavers considering entering the teaching profession are particularly welcome. Located in the heart of Christchurch, we offer a caring community, delightful children, and a staff committed to achieving excellence.

Keeping Children Safe in Education
The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates as part of a safeguarding process to assess suitability to work with children. This will include checks of social media and internet presence. Only designated panel members will conduct these searches, and relevant findings will be shared appropriately.
