Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Ward Manager for Clyne Ward, Cefn Coed Hospital. The post holder will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, with experience of working with patients with mental health issues, complex needs, and a recovery-focused philosophy.
The successful candidate will be required to work Monday - Friday, with possible shift work outside of core hours depending on service demand.
About Clyne Ward
Clyne Ward is a female adult acute treatment ward providing multi-disciplinary care and treatment for patients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems. Our goal is to support patients through their recovery journey in the safest and least restrictive manner.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the operational, clinical, performance, and governance management of Clyne Ward. This includes managing nursing services and resources, overseeing daily ward functions, staff management, resource allocation, and workforce development.
The Ward Manager will lead and coordinate the delivery of quality services for patients and their families or carers. Responsibilities include setting standards, and overseeing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs through the nursing and multidisciplinary teams, in line with operational policies.
The Ward Manager will also be a key knowledge resource, actively involved in staff education, development, appraisal, supervision, and support. They will handle recruitment and retention of nursing staff.
Ensuring nursing care aligns with clinical governance and quality and safety agendas is essential, both locally and in accordance with wider health board policies, to provide excellent patient care.
