Job Overview
The role is based in the R&D Oral Health Platform Process Engineering team, supporting new product development for oral health products. It is accountable for process development, scale‑up, and technology transfer aligned to the OH pipeline, collaborating with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functions to deliver robust commercial scale manufacturing processes for new product launches.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop an understanding of products in terms of formulation and processing.
* Understand scale‑up and product/process characterization.
* Plan and implement process development experiments at laboratory and/or pilot plant (1/10th) scale, using Operational Excellence/Quality by Design tools such as DoE and reporting the results.
* Support innovation / NPD projects process development and scale‑up requirements.
* Supervise manufacturing campaigns to meet cGMP and Health & Safety standards, supporting activities such as process development, validation, pivotal stability, and clinical studies.
* Create documents including Experimental Plans/Reports, MMI (Master Manufacturing Instruction), Change Controls, Technical Rationales, and Investigation Reports.
* Support Technical Risk Assessments (TRA, MRA) and Product Strategy Control (PCS) related to new products/processes.
* Develop strong, collaborative relationships with other departments/functions and support knowledge sharing.
* Pioneer new technology or processing routes as a continuous improvement to existing commercial products and engage closely with the Supply Chain Technical team to support overall manufacturing strategy and continuity.
* Travel to various locations, including R&D pilot facilities and Supply Chain manufacturing sites for trials.
Qualifications
* BSc/BEng or equivalent level.
* Pharmaceutical Science/Process or Manufacturing Engineering/Chemical Engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* MSc/MEng.
* Process or Manufacturing Engineering/Chemical Engineering.
