Join Our Pharmacy Team as a Pharmacy Assistant
The Pharmacy Department offers exciting opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to become part of our dynamic team. If you're interested in starting a career in Pharmacy, this role could be your first step towards becoming a registered Pharmacy technician.
Under the supervision of Senior Technicians, you will engage in a variety of activities within our busy dispensary, serving Dorset County Hospitals Inpatients, Outpatients, and Dorset Healthcare Community Hospitals. Candidates should have a good standard of general education, including GCSE grade C or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
You must be willing to undertake and achieve a Level 2 Pharmacy Services qualification within 12 months. Essential skills include excellent communication, self-motivation, flexibility, attention to detail, teamwork, initiative, and professionalism. Computer literacy is required, and training on pharmacy systems will be provided.
This position offers 37.5 hours per week, with rotations including weekends, Bank Holidays, and late duties. Flexibility is necessary to meet service needs.
About the Pharmacy Department
The purpose-built Pharmacy provides a clinical pharmacy service to Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, featuring advanced systems like a BD robot, Prescription Tracking System, and Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration.
