Hours of work: 150 hours over a 4 week period (approximately 37.5 hours per week). A long shift is 12 hours and you will be required to work 1 clinical LD shift per week. You also have the opportunity for enhanced payments for additional hours worked, and to join our ‘Flexible Workforce’ (Putney Bank).

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the leadership team at the RHN as The Ward Manager of Drapers Ward in our Brain Injury Service (BIS). This role is a high profile, accessible and responsive leader with professional, clinical and managerial responsibility for our Brain Injury Service ward which provides level 1 neuro-rehabilitation to a complex group of patients.
The post holder will provide strong leadership for an interdisciplinary team and will act as a role model within the service and organisation to foster a culture of professional development, team support and quality standards of care.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the ward and co-ordination of the patient’s care to ensure a high standard of evidence-based nursing care is consistently delivered to patients. They will ensure that a safe, cost effective service is provided and will act as a role model and patient advocate, ensuring a positive patient experience for all.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
•First level Registered Nurse with current registration on the NMC register.
•First degree in relevant subject or post-registration qualification in Specialist Practice that is relative to the role or equivalent experience.
•Evidence of continuing professional development.
•Teaching/Mentor qualification or the commitment to undertake and successfully complete within 12 months of appointment.
•Knowledge of NMC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practice.
•Knowledge of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 and Care Quality Commission Requirements.
•Knowledge of Human Resources policies, processes and tools including interviewing, performance coaching and conducting performance reviews.
•Good financial awareness and control.
Desirable
•Relevant management/leadership qualification or evidenced experience.
•Evidence of study at MSc level within either leadership or specialist area of nursing practice.
Experience and skills

•Appropriate experience in a Sister/Charge Nurse role.
