Job Overview
This role involves working closely with caseworkers to review evidence and provide clinical advice related to GOS services. It is a temporary, part-time maternity cover until November 2025, requiring the applicant to be a current GOC Optometrist registrant or eligible for renewal.
Main Duties
1. Responding to Post Payment Verification escalations from non-clinical caseworkers.
2. Supporting and mentoring casework teams.
3. Reviewing disputed PPV claims.
4. Collaborating across teams to meet service goals and monitor NHS BSA policies.
5. Providing clinical advice to external clients and NHS BSA internally.
6. Ensuring clinical oversight on data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting.

Person Specification
Essential qualifications: Recognized GOC registration as an optometrist, current registration without conditions, and no investigations or adverse rulings.
Experience: Knowledge of NHS ophthalmic contracting, clinical audits, training/mentoring, and data management.
Skills & Qualities: Effective communication, analytical skills, tact, diplomacy, understanding of data handling, presentation skills, and ability to manage conflicts of interest.
