We are looking for a Night General Porter to work nights in as part of out dynamic team at the Hospital of St Johns and St Elizabeth. You will be responsible for providing a high quality, prompt and efficient Portering service to patients, staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will have proven Portering experience, be highly organized and have a proactive approach to all tasks. Ideally, you will have some experience in a hospital previously.
Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our luxury private Hospital has an international reputation for providing the highest quality of care to patients and is unique in that all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.

What are the responsibilities of this Night General Porter role?
* To ensure that the Portering service meets the needs and expectations of Patients, Visitors and Ward team.
* To Move patients in/out and around the hospital in a safe, caring, efficient manner, ensuring their dignity, wellbeing and safety is maintained at all times.
* To carry out daily checks on the wheel chairs, manual handling mechanical aids, record any defects accordingly to the Portering Supervisor.
* To lift, handle, transport any goods including furniture, beds, deliveries for patients/staff, medical/IT equipment, etc
* To transport clinical waste bags including sharps bins to the clinical waste storage facility; this will involve frequent exposure to highly unpleasant working conditions.
* To be able to work independently or as part of a team and with limited direct supervision
