Lecturer in Foundation Studies
We are looking for an inspiring lecturer to deliver Entry Level 1‑3 and Level 1 pathways with a focus on DIY, outdoor and gardening activities at foundation level. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching at entry level and level 1 and ideally experience of teaching students with a learning disability and/or on the autistic spectrum.
Salary: £32,136 – £42,848 per annum (pro‑rate)
Terms: Permanent
Location: Leek College site
Hours: Full‑time & part‑time positions available
Responsibilities:
* To teach and assess on Foundation courses comprising Entry 3 and Level 1 Vocational programmes, Level 2 work skills, and Level 1 personal growth and Wellbeing‑SEN support focused courses.
* If required, to teach and support English and Maths in contextualised and functional skills delivery, up to Entry 3.
* Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, contributing to EHCP monitoring, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
* Undertake normal administrative duties required of lecturers including assistance with admissions, enrolment, induction and providing management information as required.
* To participate in the Departmental Self Assessment Reporting process.
Qualifications:
* Has an appropriate subject qualification to degree or equivalent and holds or is studying for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
* Has experience of teaching at entry level and level 1.
* Ideally has relevant teaching experience within the FE sector.
* Ideally has a first degree (or equivalent in a relevant discipline).
* Experience of teaching students with a learning disability and/or on the autistic spectrum is desirable.
