Responsibilities
* Customer Experience – Champion and lead customer experience by ensuring the right products are sourced and available for relevant local industries.

Job Role
* Product Sales & Strategy – Develop and implement a strategy to drive sales growth, manage cash flow, and improve profitability, aligned with the company’s long-range plan.
* Value Proposition – Clearly communicate the hydraulics division’s value proposition to customers.
* Sales Targets – Meet sales and margin targets, driving growth and profitability.
* Performance Analysis – Analyse monthly sales and margin reports to assess division contribution and act on insights.
* Supplier Relationships – Build strong relationships with suppliers to determine in-demand products.
* Pricing – Oversee pricing to ensure competitiveness, approve and review new product additions.
* Internal Communication – Share new product and service opportunities, developments, and feedback with the MIS sales team.

Team Leadership & Hydraulics Branch Management
* Lead and develop the Inverness-based hydraulics team, providing strategic oversight.
* Direct external hydraulics representatives and other sales staff to promote cross-selling; conduct monthly reviews of sales and margin against targets.
* Oversee sales orders, quotations, and pricing for the hydraulics team.
* Coordinate with other category managers and branch managers to align activities.
* Collaborate with internal teams to close deals and ensure smooth delivery.
* Conduct performance appraisals and targeted development plans; hold monthly team meetings.
* Ensure staffing levels meet business needs and facilitate proper onboarding and training for new colleagues.
* Uphold health and safety compliance and company policies.
Person Specification
* Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
* Proven experience in sales, product management, or related field (preferably in sales and hydraulics).
* Commercial awareness with ability to drive revenue growth.
* Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Proficiency in inventory control and stock management.
* Detail-oriented with ability to identify business opportunities.
* Highly organized with strong administrative skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive; strong IT skills including Office and ERP.
* Full valid driving license.
* Knowledge of industrial products is beneficial but not essential.
