Job Description:
Are you an experienced procurement professional with a passion for driving strategic outcomes and delivering real impact in project work? If you have a proven track record in public sector procurement and enjoy working collaboratively to shape successful projects, this role could be the ideal opportunity for you!
My client is a leading organisation in the sustainable waste management sector, seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key procurement projects and make a real difference in an environmentally conscious field. The role offers a chance to work on projects with meaningful impact, collaborate with diverse teams, and help ensure efficient and resilient supply chains.
Your new role:
1. Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies to ensure a reliable supply of critical goods, services, and works.
2. Independently run end-to-end tender processes compliant with the new Procurement Act 2023.
3. Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders throughout the procurement process, from market analysis to contract award.
4. Drive continuous improvement by optimising supplier performance, achieving cost savings, and improving efficiency.
5. Champion sustainable procurement practices and collaborate with internal teams and key suppliers to mitigate risks and maximise value.
6. Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations while managing various procurement projects and frameworks.
Please note that this role is based full-time in the office, so you will need to be able to commute to the office in Leyland 5 days per week.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
1. A proven background in public-sector procurement at a similar level where you have managed your own procurement projects from start to finish.
2. End-to-end tendering experience under PA23 (or PCR2015/FTS).
3. Ideally, at least Level 5 CIPS qualification, but this is not essential.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical information and communicate it clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Excellent report writing skills, including preparing business cases, tender documents, and analysing savings and improvements.
6. A keen eye for detail, a proactive approach, and a passion for driving sustainable, efficient, and effective procurement processes.
7. Ability to commute to the office in Leyland 5 days per week.
In return, you will receive:
* 26 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing with service.
* Death in service scheme.
* Cycle-to-work scheme and free on-site parking.
* Opportunities for professional development and training to progress your career.
