Neurophysiology is seeking to recruit a qualified clinical scientist or clinical physiologist to join the team. Based at the Birmingham Treatment Centre (BTC), we also provide inpatient Neurophysiology diagnostic services at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), which opened in October 2024.
Applicants should hold a relevant Neurophysiology degree and ideally ANS professional exams. Applications are encouraged from year 3 STP students seeking employment in the Birmingham area. Training and assessment in nerve conduction studies can be provided in-house for candidates with a BSc in Healthcare Science (Neurophysiology), with support available for further academic study.
The duties include:
1. Performing all EEG modalities, including sleep, ambulatory, and portable EEG, as well as independent nerve conduction clinics.
2. Contributing to the daily running of the service and supporting areas of particular interest.
3. Training junior team members or other healthcare professionals.
Additional responsibilities:
* Perform neurophysiology diagnostic tests and produce factual reports.
* Participate in the out-of-hours on-call EEG rota.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the service.
* Rotate between BTC and MMUH, approximately 4:1.
Supervision of junior staff and participation in quality assurance, audit, research, and development programs are also part of the role.
