As an Engineering Assessor, you will support apprentices to succeed in both workplace and academic environments. Your role requires assessing competence, monitoring progress, and providing structured feedback and guidance.
Responsibilities
* Assess apprentice competence in both college and work‑based environments.
* Monitor and track progress using our online systems.
* Provide structured feedback and guidance to support development.
* Plan and coordinate assessment activities to ensure timely completion of apprenticeship standards.
* Maintain accurate reports on apprentice progression.
Qualifications
* Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent).
* Significant and relevant industry experience in engineering.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of current engineering practices and standards.
* Previous assessing or teaching experience is welcome but not essential. Training and support will be provided to obtain necessary qualifications.
Location & Working Arrangements
* Field‑based role, working closely with employers across the region.
* Many partner employers are based in Filton and Bristol; regular travel to these sites required.
* Core campus will be either the South West Skills Campus in Weston‑Super‑Mare or the new Aerospace Skills Academy in Filton, Bristol.
* Interviews will take place in person at one of the campuses in Weston‑Super‑Mare.
The role is full‑time (37 hours per week) but part‑time applications are welcomed.

* Salary: £29,810 – £34,410 per annum.
