We are currently recruiting for a proactive and highly organised stores person / Warehouse operative to join our team at Colwick TMD in Nottingham. This is a key operational role where youll be responsible for managing all incoming deliveries, ensuring goods are accurately received, checked, documented and stored in the correct locations. Good communication skills are essential as you will be liaising on a day-to-day basis with other members of the Boden Rail team alongside customers and suppliers. You must hold a full UK driving license as there will be times when you will need to utilise a company vehicle to collect items from suppliers or customers. Applicants must be able to evidence current or previous certification as a forklift driver. Knowledge or experience of locomotive parts is desirable but not essential. Day-to-day duties of the role: Receiving Deliveries: Ensure all deliveries are correctly received, checked against delivery documents, and booked in. This includes scanning delivery notes and maintaining the Goods Received Check Register. Storage and Redistribution: Manage the storage and redistribution of materials within the company, ensuring all items are stored correctly and distribution is documented and acknowledged by recipients. Shipping Management: Handle the shipping of spares and site deliveries, including booking carrier portals and updating registers. Ensure documentation for larger shipments is accurately filled and transport is appropriately booked. Inventory Management: Organise received goods and maintain high standards in the handling of customer and inhouse stock items, ensuring all materials are correctly placed and accounted for. Auditing stock levels and ensuring replenishment when required. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain high standards of documentation, updating records such as the try-out parts register and managing waste services documentation for the site. Safety and Cleanliness: Keep the stores area clean and organised, ensuring all materials are correctly identified and stored. The Maintenance and updating of depot COSHH records is an essential part of the stores persons role in the safety of the depot. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a Stores/Goods In environment. Strong organisational skills with a systematic approach to work. Excellent attention to detail, particularly in documentation and material storage. Proficiency in MS Office including excel Effective communication skills in English (both written and verbal). Valid UK driving licence and forklift truck training license; experience preferred.
