We aim to make each child's early education experiences positive and meaningful. Our children learn best in our warm, secure, and caring environment, where they can experiment and have fun indoors or play in our generous outdoor space from 7am to 6.30pm. We have a reputation for meeting the needs of both children and their parents and offer a solid foundation in those important first years.
Equality remains central to our policymaking, service delivery, and employment practices, providing all employees with equal opportunities for development, promotions, and work arrangements that support a manageable work-life balance. UHS actively promotes a work environment free from harassment and discrimination, providing training for managers and staff to uphold these standards. We monitor recruitment, training, development, and employment practices to ensure equality across race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, and age.
Managers appointed on or after 4 January 2024 must have already achieved a suitable Level 2 qualification in maths or do so within two years of starting. You should be calm, kind, caring, and possess a sense of humour — we like our nurseries to be happy places!
We seek someone with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and inspiring approach to leading a team and working with children and families. The role requires commitment, reliability, and flexibility. You should hold a degree in an Early Years Childcare-related subject, Early Years Practitioner Status, or equivalent experience alongside a Level 3 Early Years Qualification. Experience managing an Early Years setting or as a deputy manager with aspirations for this level is preferred.
The ability to manage a large team and drive performance improvements is essential. Flexibility to work shifts between 0700-1830 Monday to Friday throughout the year is required.
