Glasgow (Glasgow City)
NHS National Services Scotland
€37,500 a year
Posted: 9 June
Offer description

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, HCPC registered prosthetist to lead WestMARC’s Prosthetics service.

About the Role

Based at the QEUH campus in Glasgow, you would lead the West of Scotland consortium prosthetics service – a team of approximately 25 clinical and technical staff, serving a region of 3 million people, and an active patient population of around 3000. You would be NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s professional lead for Prosthetists and would also have a small clinical caseload.

Through collaboration with the local team and the Scottish Specialist Prosthetic Service, you would develop and deliver a vision for the service that will adapt to an ever‑changing healthcare environment.

Who we’re looking for

Professional and strategic leadership are a significant part of the post, so highly developed communication, management and influencing skills will be needed alongside clinical, technical, service improvement skills. You would lead and manage a large team delivering a complex, safety‑critical clinical service.

Why WestMARC?

You would be responsible for a skilled team, who are committed to further developing their service. You’d be working with the prosthetics team colleagues across WestMARC, and the wider organisation, to implement and sustain changes that will tangibly improve care for our patients.

You would be supported by an established, capable management team within WestMARC, colleagues across NHS GG&C, and the Professional community across Scotland. Formal board‑wide induction training will be provided. Colleagues within the service, and in equivalent roles across the organisation, are available for mentoring.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde recognises the importance of work‑life balance and is committed to offering a range of flexible working options where service needs allow. For roles where less than full‑time hours can be accommodated, and where the tenure is listed as "various", we encourage applications from individuals seeking flexible working arrangements. Flexible working will be included as a topic for discussion during the recruitment process.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and are proud of the diverse workforce we employ.

By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, NHSGGC has pledged its commitment to being a forces‑friendly employer. We welcome applications from across the Armed Forces Community and recognise military skills, experience and qualifications throughout the recruitment and selection process.
