We are currently recruiting for experienced Gastro Pub General Managers across a range of high-quality, food-led pubs throughout the UK. These venues focus on fresh, seasonal food, premium drinks, and exceptional guest experiences.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially minded manager to take full ownership of a thriving business, with full autonomy to shape standards, build a strong team, and drive performance.
The Role
As General Manager, you will be fully responsible for the day-to-day running and long-term success of the pub. You will lead from the front, ensuring exceptional service standards, strong financial performance, and a motivated, high‑performing team. You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver a consistent, high-quality food offering, while also maximizing revenue across all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Full responsibility for the overall operation of the pub, both front and back of house.
* Lead, train, and develop a high-performing team to deliver excellent service standards.
* Drive sales, profitability, and business growth through strong commercial awareness.
* Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
* Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations.
* Deliver outstanding guest experiences and handle feedback effectively.
* Control costs including labour, stock, and wastage to maximize profit.
* Work alongside the Head Chef to maintain high food standards and service consistency.
* Plan and implement events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to increase revenue.
* Maintain high standards across all areas including cleanliness, presentation, and service flow.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as a General Manager within a gastro pub or premium hospitality environment.
* Strong food-led background with a passion for quality dining.
* Excellent leadership and team development skills.
* Commercially aware with experience managing P&L, budgets, and KPIs.
* Hands‑on approach with the ability to lead from the front.
* Strong knowledge of licensing laws, health & safety, and compliance.
* Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
* Well‑presented, organised, and guest‑focused at all times.
