Responsibilities
* Expert clinical skills and judgment in assessing and managing complex patient problems; work within a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and mental health/substance misuse practitioners.
* Deliver face‑to‑face care and provide safe, effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment.
* Accountable for own practice, including assessment of complex wounds, long‑term conditions, QoF management, diagnosis, treatment, discharge or referral of patients.
* Practice within own scope of competence and agreed limits.
* Oversee the complex care needs of men at HMP Oakwood, managing acute and complex conditions, using strong clinical assessment and decision‑making, and developing and implementing care plans with emphasis on safety, dignity and holistic well‑being.
* Work autonomously as a clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients through sound use of clinical expertise.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse: Adult Nursing with current NMC registration.
* Experience working autonomously as a clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients.
* Knowledge of clinical audit and its relationship to research.
* Knowledge of statutory requirements for safeguarding adults and children.
* Willingness to be innovative and embrace learning through continued professional development.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in hospital, community or prison (desirable but not essential).
