Demonstrable knowledge and experience in medium and large Construction projects across constructability, construction execution, CDM, development of construction strategies, input to planning and development of construction workpacks. Overseeing the field civil, structural and architectural construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule and comply with construction standards Responsibilities Accountable for managing, supervising, organising and coordinating site construction team to provide high quality support in accordance with the Contract Interface with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum Constructability Participate in HSE activities, promoting HSE elements throughout construction including all CDM duty holder responsibilities, managing SSOW and setting to work processes Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project Support any inspection and surveillance activities, complete any QC related activities Managing and leading civil construction contractors to ensure delivery against milestones Reviewing planned activities for constructability, providing accurate feedback and direction Providing technical expertise and guidance on construction related activities Performance reporting to site management, ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan Monitor and report project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on-site construction Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, site accommodation and other project-specific requirements, in accordance with client/contract specifications and in accordance with applicable Policies & Procedures Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required Utilise Commercial processes to manage change and capture variations effectively Qualifications Qualifications Typically, minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience Or trade qualifications with proven experience in managing construction activities, with substantial experience managing civil scopes of work on dynamic projects A recognised HSE qualification is desirable (IOSH or similar) Knowledge, skills and experience: Appropriate level of field construction experience Knowledge of Construction Workpack processes Demonstrable experience in the execution of multi disciplined projects in the process and energy sectors or other relevant industries is preferred Excellent communications skills Strong effective delegation skills Exposure and familiar with working within a field construction environment. Experience of Constructability and Construction Readiness Reviews. Experience of people management in a construction context. Good standard of general computer literacy includes MS office suite. Some experience with completion and handover processes through to construction completion. Personal attributes: Well organised, observant, good interpersonal and communication skills Display both good judgment and leadership qualities Ability to work with timelines/targets Ability to be assertive and drive culture change when required Excellent interpersonal organisational, communication and team building skills Role model Wood’s values & behaviours
