Overview
Our client is a small forwarder looking for a candidate with experience in an Import role. 80% Airfreight with some Road and Seafreight. Willing to contribute across the business and support the company's verticals.
Responsibilities
* Handling aerospace, general cargo, AOG, hazardous and live animals.
* Experience of working in an import department, including the full booking process from start to finish, including Customs entries.
* Opportunity to learn airfreight exports.
* Manage customer interactions to retain and grow the existing customer base while ensuring exceptional service.
* On-call duties on a rota (1 in 3) for AOG shipments and other urgent shipments; role is job to finish and requires teamwork across departments.
Qualifications and Skills
* Computer literate with a clear understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Understanding of a full range of Incoterms and current Customs Procedures.
* Knowledge of International Trade Regulations.
* Excellent geography, mathematics and literacy; service and engagement are non-negotiable.
* Willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced setting.
* Multimodal experience preferable but airfreight experience essential.
* DG training preferable.
* Cargowise or Boxtop experience preferable.
* Level CO security essential.
* Car driver essential.
Additional Information
* Salary £25,000.
* This is not a Monday to Friday 9am–5:30pm role; expect a rota for call outs as described above.
