Our Shift Electricians are responsible for repairing production and auxiliary machines following breakdowns. They identify improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste (downtime and can loss). They support shift managers in resolving breakdowns and completing tasks set by engineering leadership or the specialist team, including the level 1 PPM program.
* Observe and adhere to company health and safety regulations at all times.
* Carry out mechanical (challenges) and electrical repairs as required by the engineering team or shift manager.
* Identify early fault detection and quality defect systems, maintaining effectiveness through zonal ownership.
* Complete tasks as directed by the matrix manager (proactive/reactive lead).
* Support and guide mechanical technicians to develop their engineering skills.
* Address issues with production machines that may affect production or pose safety risks.
* Support autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators and updating operational standards for continuity and standardization.
* Efficiently perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to company standards.
* Identify and implement continuous improvements to processes and machines.
* Own project themes as determined by engineering management or leadership (SMART).
* Innovate machine setup and modifications for better performance.
* Handover to the incoming maintenance engineer, informing them of machine status and ongoing repairs.
* Minimize waste by adopting lean principles and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
* Maintain accurate records in line with Ball's requirements.
* Adhere to ISO/BRC standards.

* Operate and maintain production machines.
* Continuously seek to optimize production output and quality by responding promptly to machine and process issues.
This is a shift position working on a rotating schedule: 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am, with 4-week cycles on days and nights.
Week 1 - Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat/Sun
Week 2 - Wed/Thurs
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience in a similar environment (essential).
Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
Total Salary Range (including shift premium): £45,000 - £50,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
