About the role An exciting opportunity has opened within our Corporate Governance and Secretariat function as a Senior Assistant Company Secretary. We are building our Group culture and team, and this role will provide wide ranging support on company secretarial and corporate governance matters. Role Purpose: This role supports the effective management of the Societys Board and its subsidiary companies, ensuring all corporate reporting and disclosures meet legal requirements. Youll work with a wide range of stakeholders across the Society, including Executive and Non-Executive Directors, Enterprise Leaders, external auditors, legal counsel, and key suppliers. The role involves working both independently and as part of a team to maintain high standards of governance and ensure records and processes are accurate, compliant, and well-managed. You will have a strong technical understanding and have experience of managing competing priorities and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels throughout an organisation. To be successful in this role its essential you have: Hold or be working towards a related company secretarial qualification A solid understanding of corporate law, the UK Corporate Governance Code, and experience of applying this understanding pragmatically in supporting boards and committees. Ability to perform under pressure and meet multiple deadlines High attention to detail and good drafting skills Proven track record of developing constructive working relationships with various stakeholders Computer literate - proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams as well as digital board paper portals, such as Convene.
