SEN Teaching Assistant - Learning Support

A college based in Wirral is seeking a caring, motivated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Learning Support team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of young people and adult learners within a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
* Assist learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, learning difficulties, and emotional or behavioural needs
* Support students in classroom activities, workshops, and independent learning sessions
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning materials and promote inclusive learning
* Encourage student confidence, independence, attendance, and engagement
* Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate support records
* Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and student wellbeing at all times
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with young people or adults with SEND
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
* Can build positive and professional relationships with students and staff
* Is organised, adaptable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
* Has a commitment to inclusive education and student success
* Holds (or is willing to work towards) a relevant Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND support strategies
* Experience within further education, schools, or alternative education settings
* Behaviour management and pastoral support experience
* Functional Skills English and Maths support
* Safeguarding and Prevent Duty awareness
