Full Time 34 Hours Across a 4-Day Working WeekWe are looking for an experienced and proactive Accounts Semi-Senior to join our growing team in Otley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to continue developing their career within a modern and forward-thinking accountancy practice while benefiting from an excellent work-life balance through a 4-day working week.The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of clients and will involve a mix of bookkeeping, VAT, accounts preparation, and tax compliance work, alongside supporting the continued digitalisation of the office.About the Role You will support a wide range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, working closely with senior accountants and managers to deliver a high-quality service.Key responsibilities will include:Bookkeeping and VAT return preparationPreparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companiesAssisting with personal and corporation tax complianceLiaising directly with clients and resolving queriesSupporting digitalisation and cloud accounting adoptionHelping champion the rollout and use of Xero within the Otley officeSupporting junior team members where appropriateMaintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulationsWhat Were Looking For We are seeking someone with previous accountancy practice experience who is comfortable managing work across multiple clients.Essential requirements:Previous experience working within an accountancy practiceAAT qualified (or actively studying)Experience preparing accounts and VAT returnsKnowledge of personal and corporation taxStrong organisational and client communication skillsExcellent attention to detailConfident using cloud accounting software, particularly XeroA proactive approach to digitalisation and process improvementDesirable:Experience working with agricultural or farming clientsThis role would not suit candidates whose experience is solely within industry finance environments.Working Arrangements & Flexibility Full-time hours worked across a 4-day week (34 hours)1 day working from home permitted once fully embedded within the teamFlexibility is available, although current office arrangements require slightly more structured hours to ensure sufficient office coverAdditional flexibility is expected once the two Otley offices combineWhy Join Us?
