Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for experienced engineers to join a Technical Solutions and Robotics team, and to be engaged on a permanent basis in either Warrington, Cumbria, Manchester or Epsom with hybrid working.
We are looking to build on our robotics capability, and we need engineers who can take solutions from conception through to delivery, working as part of an innovative team.
You will be a creative and innovative thinker who is happy to work in a less structured environment. You will be part of a team with a fail fast, learn fast mentality, which is aiming to use technology to solve nuclear decommissioning and waste management problems faster, cheaper, safer. You will be resilient and comfortable with change, driving forward innovation across the Nuclear industry.
The role requires the ability to work collaboratively with both supply chain companies and academia. The ability to travel is desirable, the main locations will be Northampton, Manchester and Whitehaven.
Experience
* Delivery of engineering designs which include automation and/or robotics systems
* Development of commissioning or testing documentation for robotics systems, or systems including machinery
* Delivery of the engineering substantiation for designs/systems including machinery
* Specification of sensors, motors, servos, safety components, pneumatics, and other electromechanical components.
* Electrical design and preparation of electrical schematics, safety circuits and logic diagrams.
* Management and technical oversight of design delivery by robotics and automation supply chain companies
* Production or understanding of the CE marking of systems under the Machinery Directive, in particular the assessment against the EHSRs and carrying out the risk reduction process.
* A demonstrable understanding of a multi-discipline approach to design and management of interfaces
* Management of change through design, construction, and commissioning phases
* Development of strategies, procedures, and instructions for longer term asset care of robotics/machinery systems aligned with client requirement
Optional:
* Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) or industrial robot programming (Fanuc).
* Experience with machine vision system integration (cameras, optics, lighting).
* Understanding of networking and experience using industrial automation communication protocols.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in an Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics or equivalent Engineering discipline
* Chartered Engineer
