Responsibilities
* Develop reliable, maintainable software using Python‑based technologies and modern web frameworks, supporting deployment, testing, security, monitoring, and ongoing system maintenance.
* Contribute to the design of cloud‑ready architectures that ensure COSMIC platforms remain secure, scalable, and resilient, supporting both existing services and the development of new products.
* Co‑design a new suite of bespoke enterprise‑level systems to support COSMIC’s future innovation and commercial success.
* Maintain existing legacy systems.
* Co‑design and implement high‑quality, readable and clean APIs and web services using Python, Django.
* Assume responsibility for deployment, testing, security, monitoring and maintenance of COSMIC’s products.
* Collaborate with Software Development Leads (web and data) and Product Management.
* Work in a cloud environment (GCP or AWS) and with Docker, automation, CICD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
* Build and consume RESTful APIs, and web services depending on complex database relationships.
* Follow clean code principles and thoughtful use of design patterns.
* Write unit tests, integration tests and apply TDD.
Qualifications
* Experience with Django, Django‑REST‑Framework, FastAPI and/or NodeJS.
* Expertise in Python with familiarity of JavaScript.
* Experience writing unit tests, integration tests and applying TDD.
* Experience using containers (Docker) and working in a cloud environment.
* Knowledge of writing and consuming RESTful APIs.
* Knowledge of building web services that depend on complex database relationships.
* Technical experience with GCP or AWS and Docker.
* Understanding of automation, CICD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
