You’ll be responsible for overseeing team performance, utilisation, and ensuring their contribution directly supports the wider business plan.This is more than a leadership role, it's a chance to shape the future of the business.The role is permanent, with flexible working arrangements available (remote, hybrid, full-time or part-time).Our client has office locations in Greater Manchester, London, and Derbyshire, and projects across the UK, so they can be flexible on location.What You’ll Be DoingLeading the Ecology team, ensuring high standards of delivery, wellbeing, and professional developmentDriving the team’s contribution to the overall business strategy and targetsManaging team utilisation and resource planning across multiple projectsBuilding and strengthening client relationships at a senior levelOverseeing complex ecological assessments and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputsRepresenting the consultancy at industry events, conferences, and strategic partnershipsSupporting business development through proposals, tenders, and high-level client engagementMentoring team leads and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team cultureWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for a confident leader with a deep understanding of ecological consultancy and a passion for developing people and delivering value.You’ll ideally bring:Significant experience in ecological consultancy, including project leadership and client liaisonA track record of line or team management, with responsibility for resourcing and team developmentStrong business acumen with the ability to link team activity to strategic business goalsExcellent report writing and review skills (PEA, EcIA, BNG etc.)Protected species licences and/or recognised specialist expertiseProven experience leading bids and managing high-value projectsDegree in a relevant subjectCIEEM membership (Full or Associate)Proficiency with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)FISC Level 3 or higher botanical IDFull UK driving licence
